Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What size do I need?

Please refer to the size chart in the image above.

There’s a blend zone to consider if you’re right on the line. Small size generally fits an 8.5, but 8.5 might also fit a medium depending on specific finger shape. Let’s use the “No-Taper” finger as an example. Most fingers taper down in size from the large knuckle to fingertip. But in some cases the fingertip is the same size, or larger.

We can help better if you know your ring size.  This can by done by any jewelry and is free.

Q: How should my Rock Slide fit?

Slide is Hard Enough, a Proper Fit Makes it Easier. Like shoes that are too big, a loose slide is like walking in 12’s when you need size 8. The slide shouldn’t pass over your large knuckle, allowing you to bend your finger. This makes it feel like a natural extension rather than a cast on your digit. If you prefer a slide that goes over your large knuckle, you can upsize. Forget all the stuff you’ve heard or seen, there is no need for a long heavy slide or high action, it just makes it harder.

Q: Are your sizes the same size across materials?

Yes, Rock Slides fit the same across all materials. If small glass fits you, so will a small ceramic or small brass. Glass slides are individually made so they can vary from slide to slide but are always very close.

Q: Does Rock Slide Offer Artist Endorsements?

Sometimes, but not often. We’re a crew of 3 so we don’t always have time to respond. We look for serious slide players who are touring artists or have a strong social media presence. If you have 1 million followers but we have to scroll through 300 posts to see you using a slide, we won’t respond. Slide should be used in a large percentage of your posts to be considered for an endorsement. It’s best to start tagging us in posts using our slides so we can get to know you.  If we’ve never interacted before and you email us we will most likely not respond. Even if you’re a perfect match, we still can’t respond to all requests since we are a small indie company.

Q: How do I know what size my finger is?

Method 1: Jewelry Store

The most accurate way to size your finger is to stop by your neighborhood jeweler or department store with a jeweler and have them size it. The process should be free and takes about 90 seconds.

Method 2: Measure with Wrenches

If you have access to a set of Metric or USA box wrenches you can very quickly measure your finger.  To measure any finger size, use the OPEN END of the wrench. DO NOT use the ring end of the wrench as it could get stuck on your finger.  Find the size that slides over the large knuckle snugly like how a ring fits.  If it goes over your knuckle without touching the skin then try the next size down.

Q: Do you make custom slides?

Sometimes, but not between October 1 and Feb 28 . Please contact the email address below for requests. We have custom and one-off slides on the shelf so we may have what you need.

Q: Can I buy multiple slides and return or exchange the ones I don’t like.

Yes, this is a great way to try out several slides if you don’t have a dealer nearby. International customers email us first so we can discuss shipping costs.

Q: What is your refund policy?

You can return 60 days from purchase in the USA.  International customers have a 90 day return policy since shipping can take up to 21 days.  Mail it to the address below with a note.  We encourage you to keep the slide for a couple weeks and email or call Danny to see how/if we can help you. Our goal is to get you the right slide.

Q: What is your exchange policy?

USA customers can return a Rock Slide within 60 days for an exchange.  In the case of an exchange, ship the slide back to the address below with a note saying what you want in exchange. We recommend USPS Ground Advantage in a small box or padded envelope. We will cover shipping cost of  the new exchange slide 1 time. If there is a price difference in our favor we’ll refund you. Sometimes we’ll ask you to cover the difference if the returned item is in your favor by more than a couple bucks.

International exchanges. Please contact us to talk about options. Shipping is costly and is usually not worth it. International customers are responsible for shipping charges both ways on exchanges.

Q: What should I do if my slide is defective?

Defects happen occasionally.  Please email us a picture of the defect and we will take care of you.  If you find broken/cracked glass be sure to discard the slide immediately and contact us. DO NOT use broken glass on your finger, glass cuts can cause serious and permanent injury.
